APD responds to injury collision on I-40 near West Old Town

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Albuquerque Police were dispatched to an injury crash Friday morning on Interstate 40 near Albuquerque’s West Old Town area, according to APD Traffic.

The accident impacted the eastbound lanes of I-40 approaching Exit 157A to Rio Grande Boulevard Northwest. Officers responded to the scene at around 8:24 a.m,

While the department has not shared any details regarding the circumstances of the wreck, at least one person suffered unspecified injuries.

It’s unclear at this time how many drivers were involved and whether any charges are expected to be filed.


Icy conditions lead to 4-vehicle wreck on I-40 at NM-306 in east Tijeras

BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM — As many as four vehicles were involved in a crash Friday morning on Interstate 40 near far east Tijeras, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

The collision took place on the westbound highway at mile marker 181, just past New Mexico State Road 306, or Sedillo Hill Road. It was first recorded by the BCSO at 8:19 a.m.

Details regarding the cause and nature of the wreck have not been disclosed, but both westbound and eastbound lanes were impacted by delays as deputies responded to the scene.

Preliminary details indicate that icy conditions on the westbound lanes may have attributed to the multi-vehicle crash.

Traffic was reduced to a single lane in the area at the time and motorists were advised of “extremely icy conditions” near the East mountains.

No significant injuries have been confirmed at this time.



At least 1 left injured following crash on I-25, east of downtown Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Injuries were reported Friday morning on Interstate 25 near Albuquerque’s Spruce Park neighborhood, according to APD Traffic.

Albuquerque Police responded to the scene on the northbound lanes at Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Avenue Northeast, in an area east of Downtown. Dispatchers first received the call at about 9:30 a.m.

Public information remains limited at this time, but officials confirmed at least one person suffered injuries as a result of the accident. It was unclear whether the patient had to be transported to a hospital.
