ALBUQUERQUE, NM — One person died Friday morning as a result of a pedestrian collision on Coors Boulevard in northwest Albuquerque, reports KRQE.
Albuquerque Police were called to the scene at Iliff Road Northwest, in the city’s West Mesa neighborhood. KRQE first reported the incident at 7:35 a.m.
According to the APD’s Motors Unit, one person was crossing Coors Boulevard on foot when they were hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.
The victim succumbed to their injuries at the scene, confirmed authorities.
At this time, no information about the hit-and-run vehicle has been released.
A section of northbound Coors Boulevard was blocked at the intersection during the initial investigation. Motorists were asked to find alternate routes around the site.
