APD responds to fatal pedestrian crash on Central Ave in International District

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – One person lost their life Sunday night due to a pedestrian collision in east Albuquerque’s International District, according to KRQE.

The fatal incident unfolded on Central Avenue Southeast near Wisconsin Street. It was first reported by KRQE when Albuquerque Police had already arrived on the scene and begun conducting an investigation.

Officials have not confirmed that the person killed was the involved pedestrian, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No information about the driver has been released.

The APD’s fatal crash team continues to investigate. No pending charges or citations have been confirmed.

 

2 residents displaced after vehicle crash at north Albuquerque apartment complex

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A driver crashed their car into a building at an apartment complex in north Albuquerque on Monday morning, forcing two residents to look for other housing, reports KRQE.

According to Albuquerque Fire Rescue, the incident unfolded at Eagle Ranch Apartments, located at 9250 Eagle Ranch Road Northwest. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene shortly after 4:30 a.m.

An early investigation indicates that, for reasons still unclear, a car traveled off of the roadway. The vehicle then collided with a building before coming to rest in an area between a retaining wall and the patio of one of the apartment units.

Officials confirmed that the event displaced two residents, but no major injuries were reported. The involved driver, who was able to self-extricate from the wreckage, did not have to be sent to a hospital.

It’s unclear whether any charges or citations are anticipated.

 

BCSO responds to motorcycle crash at south Albuquerque intersection

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A motorcyclist was involved in a collision early last Friday afternoon, August 23, in the San Jose area of south Albuquerque, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident happened at the intersection of Rio Abajo Road Southeast and Kinney Street Southeast. It was first reported by the BCSO at 12:03 p.m.

Few details have been released at this time, but all northbound and southbound lanes in the immediate area were shut down.

Motorists were asked to seek alternate routes as crews worked to clear the scene.


No information regarding potential injuries has been shared.
