APD called to crash on I-40 WB near Albuquerque’s Netherwood Park

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Albuquerque Police responded to a vehicle accident Thursday morning on Interstate 40 in northeast Albuquerque, reports APD Traffic.

The collision took place on the westbound interstate at milepost 160, between University Boulevard Northeast and Carlisle Boulevard Northeast. Dispatchers first received the call at around 8:00 a.m.

Two right lanes and the right shoulder were initially blocked, but by 8:11 a.m., the closure was reduced to just the far right lane and right shoulder.


Officials did not say what caused the accident, but the scene remained on the interstate for almost one hour.

By 9:09 a.m., the site had been cleared and the entire roadway was reopened to normal traffic.


The APD has not indicated any injuries as of this writing.
