RUIDOSO, NM – According to KOAT, a suspected impaired driver caused a deadly crash in northeast Ruidoso on Tuesday night.
Officials found that 22-year-old Jadyn Mow, a Nogal resident, was driving north on Mehem Drive when he strayed into the southbound lanes. Moments later, his vehicle collided head-on with a vehicle driven by George Fitzgibbon, 46, at around 9:50 p.m.
Rescue crews pronounced Fitzgibbon, a local resident, dead at the scene.
Authorities determined Mow was impaired and placed him under custody. He was booked into the Lincoln County Detention Center after being treated for minor injuries.
New Mexico State Police is investigating the incident.
Wreck blocks traffic on I-10 in Las Cruces
LAS CRUCES, NM – An auto accident disrupted traffic on eastbound Interstate 10 at mile marker 136 on Thursday, according to NMRoads.
First responders were called to the scene near the Recycled Roadrunner Sculpture and Scenic Overlook Rest Area at around 7:16 a.m.
Officials have not provided additional details. It remains unclear at this time how many vehicles were involved or what led up to the wreck.
No injuries have been confirmed.
Crash reported near Snow Heights
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KKOB Traffic, a wreck was reported on Interstate 40 between Wyoming Boulevard Northeast and Louisiana Boulevard Northeast on Wednesday.
The incident happened on the westbound lanes near the Snow Heights area at around 3:29 p.m.
It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the collision.
