Alleged impaired driver crashes SUV into fire truck near Shadow Hills

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KOB, a suspected impaired driver crashed their SUV into a fire truck at Tramway Boulevard Northeast and Montgomery Boulevard Northeast on Monday.

Emergency crews were working the scene of an accident at around 8 p.m. when 19-year-old Isabella Haney, of Sandia Park, slammed her vehicle into a fire truck that was parked to protect the area from oncoming traffic.

An officer at the scene determined Haney was impaired after conducting sobriety and breathalyzer tests.

First responders transported Haney to an area hospital to be checked out. She was later arrested and charged with DWI.

Crews also transported one person from the initial crash to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Police will not charge teen driver for fatal crash in Hobbs

HOBBS, NM – Authorities will not press criminal charges against a teen who drove over a man at East Broadway Street and South Turner Street on May 12, according to KOB.

Leroy Gonzales, 43, was flying a drone when he was struck by a teen driving a maroon truck. The teen allegedly tried to leave the scene following the collision but was stopped by bystanders.

Hobbs Police Department officials say they have exhausted all leads.

Authorities issued the driver two citations: one for “operators must be licensed” and the other for careless driving.

Wreck blocks traffic near Highland Park

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KKOB Traffic, a crash disrupted traffic on northbound Interstate 25 near Central Avenue Northeast on Tuesday.

First responders were called to the scene at around 3:56 p.m.

Officials have not released additional details, but the center lane was blocked following the collision. Motorists were advised of delays impacting the area.

As of this writing, local agencies have not confirmed any injuries and/or hospitalizations.
