Alleged DUI driver fatally collides with two other vehicles near Taylor Ranch

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KRQE, a suspected drunk driver fatally collided with two vehicles at Coors Blvd NW and Montaño Rd NW overnight.

Jesus Sandoval-Martinez, 21, was driving a grey Dodge Dakota pickup truck north on Coors Blvd NW in the middle lane at excessive speeds when he ran a red light and hit a westbound black Tesla and a Toyota Corolla.

Following the collision, Sandoval-Martinez fled the scene on foot. Witnesses and bystanders followed him to a Walgreens and held him there until officers came.

Rescue crews transported the Tesla driver, Tiger Gutierrez, 22, and his passenger to an area hospital, where Gutierrez died. The passenger is in critical condition. The Toyota driver suffered minor injuries.

First responders also transported Sandoval-Martinez to the hospital, where he was assessed for DWI.

Authorities charged Sandoval-Martinez with vehicular homicide (DWI), leaving the scene of an accident, failure to obey traffic control devices, and reckless driving. They arrested him on Monday.

Wreck reported near Rio Bravo Condominiums

SOUTH VALLEY, NM – A traffic accident was reported at Rio Bravo Blvd SE and Prince St SE on Saturday, according to BCSO.

The incident happened around 6:07 p.m.

It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the collision.

Driver collides with horse in Bernalillo County

BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM – According to BCSO, a driver hit a horse at Dennis Chavez Blvd and Atrisco Vista Blvd on Monday.

The driver struck the horse around 3:23 a.m.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
