Alcohol suspected in Chaves County accident that injured driver

CHAVES COUNTY, NM – A driver was injured in a suspected drunk driving accident in Chaves County last week.

According to a Facebook post from the Chaves County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the area of Pine Lodge Road and Old Clovis Highway on March 15 at about 10 p.m.

The sheriff’s office said a driver was heading south on Old Clovis Highway and failed to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle went off the roadway and collided with a power pole. The motorist was extricated by the Roswell Fire Department and taken to an area hospital.

Investigators said alcohol appears to have been a contributing factor in the wreck.

Crash causes heavy delays on I-40 eastbound at 4th Street

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Rush-hour traffic was slowed along a portion of Interstate 40 in Albuquerque on Monday morning due to a crash.

An advisory on NMRoads at 7:13 a.m. stated that the incident took place on I-40 eastbound at mile marker 158 at 4th Street.

The right two lanes of the interstate were shut down while crews were responding to the scene Drivers were advised to expect heavy delays through the area.

BCSO responds to vehicle rollover at Atrisco Vista Boulevard

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover crash on Friday afternoon.

The BCSO issued a traffic alert at 4:16 p.m. stating that deputies responded to the area of Interstate 40 eastbound and Atrisco Vista Boulevard NW. The #2 lane of I-40 eastbound was blocked and drivers were urged to avoid the area.

An update at 5:31 p.m. stated that all lanes were reopened. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
