Accident shuts down US-84 WB for hours near Abiquiú

RIO ARRIBA COUNTY, NM — Emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash last Friday, June 10, on U.S. Highway 84 near northeast Abiquiú, reports NM Roads.

The wreck took place near mile marker 224, past Talus Natural Arch in Galina. The crash was posted in the NM Roads map index at 2:39 p.m.

Details remain limited at this time, but a section of the westbound interstate was closed in the area.

Crews appeared to have continued clearing the scene through the weekend and as late as Monday morning of the following week.

Officials have not reported any injuries in the crash.
