QUAY COUNTY, NM — A vehicle crash Friday afternoon closed part of Interstate 40 about 14 miles west of Tucumcari, according to NM Roads.
The collision occurred at mile marker 314, three miles east of Quay County Road Bk, in the Montoya area. It was first recorded in NM Roads’ map index at 1:28 p.m.
It was unclear what caused the accident but both eastbound and westbound lanes, along with a left shoulder, were blocked.
As of 3:48 p.m., more than two hours later, the scene remains on the roadway and the closure remains in place.
Authorities have not indicated any injuries at this time.
