Accident closes section of I-40 WB in far west Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — BCSO deputies and New Mexico State Police responded to a crash Monday morning on Interstate 40 in far west Albuquerque, reports the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

The collision took place on the westbound lanes near mile marker 139, about a mile west of Route 55 Casino Hotel. Authorities arrived on the scene shortly before 9:10 a.m.

While no information regarding the cause of the wreck has been shared, no injuries have been reported.

All westbound lanes of I-40 were blocked in the area during the response and initial investigation.
