Accident closes part of northbound I-25 near Las Vegas

SAN MIGUEL COUNTY, NM — A section of northbound Interstate 25 was blocked for hours Tuesday morning near northeast Las Vegas following a collision, according to NM Roads.

The accident occurred on the northbound lanes of I-25 at mile marker 354, in an area about 2 miles north of the city. It was first recorded in the NM Roads map index at 6:27 a.m.

Officials have not said what cause the wreck, but the closure remained in place for at least five hours, suggesting a more involved emergency response.

As of 12:00 p.m. the same day, no updates about the scene conditions have been released, and it remains unclear whether anyone was seriously injured.
