Accident closes lane on I-40 WB near Albuquerque’s Mesa Village

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A vehicle wreck late Friday morning kept a right lane on Interstate 40 blocked for nearly an hour in east Albuquerque, according to NM Roads.

The collision was reported on the westbound interstate at mile marker 164, near Wyoming Boulevard Northeast, in the city’s Mesa Village area. It was first recorded in the NM Roads map index at 11:40 a.m.

Officials have not disclosed the cause of the accident or any details on the involved parties, but motorists were urged to slow down and use extra caution in the area.

As of 12:30 p.m., an hour later, the closure remains in place.

No injuries have been confirmed.
