Accident closes lane on I-40 WB near Albuquerque’s Altura Village

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A crash was reported early Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 40 near northeast Albuquerque’s Altura Village neighborhood, reports NM Roads.

The collision was reported on the westbound interstate at Carlisle Boulevard Northeast shortly before 12:21 p.m.

It was unclear what caused the wreck or how many vehicles were involved, but the right lane and right shoulder were closed as a result.

Motorists were warned of delays in the area and urged to exercise extra caution.

As of 1:45 p.m., more than an hour later, the closure remained in place, suggesting a serious accident.

No injuries have been confirmed at this time.
