LAS CRUCES, NM – A man died after being hit b a vehicle while crossing the street in Las Cruces on Sunday night.
According to KFOX, 55-year-old Jerry Thacker was crossing in the 500 block of East Idaho Avenue near El Paseo Road when he was hit.
Thacker was taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
Investigators believe Thacker was walking outside of a designated crosswalk when the incident occurred. No charges are expected to be filed against the driver involved.
