5-year-old struck, killed by vehicle in parking lot of Albuquerque hospital

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Police said a child was struck and killed by a vehicle in an Albuquerque parking lot on Thursday morning, according to the Albuquerque Journal.

The incident took place at Presbyterian Hospital in the vicinity of Cedar Street, where a 5-year-old girl and her father were walking in a crosswalk in the parking lot. The Albuquerque Police Department said the driver of a pickup truck with a trailer was going south on Cedar Street, made a right turn, and struck the girl.

She was pronounced dead after being transported to an area emergency room. Police are checking video surveillance from the hospital to learn more about the circumstances that led to the fatal collision.

BCSO responds to crash on Unser Boulevard in Paradise Hills

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Deputies from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a collision in Albuquerque’s Paradise Hills neighborhood on Wednesday night.

According to an advisory from the BCSO at 7 p.m., the crash occurred in the area of Unser Boulevard NW and Essex Drive NW. All of southbound Unser Driver was shut down in the area as a result. There was no immediate word on whether anyone had been injured.

Lanes were reopened a short time later after the scene had been cleared.

Accident causes closures on I-40 westbound in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – An accident blocked a portion of Interstate 40 in Albuquerque on Wednesday afternoon, according to NMRoads.

A notification issued at 3:51 p.m. stated that the incident happened on I-40 westbound at mile marker 165 in the area of Eubank Boulevard.

The right lane and right shoulder of the interstate were blocked off while emergency crews worked to clear the wreck from the roadway. Drivers were advised to use caution and expect delays when traveling through the area.
