RIO ARRIBA COUNTY, NM — Four people died early Saturday following a fiery two-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 84 near Medanales, reports The New Mexican.
New Mexico State Police said the fatal accident happened about 20 miles northwest of Española at around 3:30 a.m.
According to preliminary details, a Jeep Cherokee and a GMC pickup truck collided head-on, causing both vehicles to catch fire.
Four people, including two occupants in each vehicle, were pronounced deceased at the scene. Their identities are still pending with the Office of the Medical Investigator.
No additional information has been made public, but an investigation remains open and ongoing.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Albuquerque Police responded to a collision last Monday, December 4, following a wreck on Interstate 25, east of downtown Albuquerque, reports APD Traffic.
The collision occurred on northbound I-25 at Exit 225 to Lomas Boulevard Northeast, near the Spruce Park neighborhood. Officers arrived on the scene at around 5:47 p.m.
As of this writing, the department has not released any information about the circumstances of the event, the types of vehicles involved, or potential injuries.

Accident closes two lanes on I-40 WB near Netherwood Park
ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Authorities were called to a collision late Friday afternoon on Interstate 40 in northeast Albuquerque, according to KKOB Traffic.
The crash happened on the westbound lanes of I-40 at Exit 159D to University Boulevard Northeast. It was first reported by KKOB at 4:16 p.m.
While officials have not said what led up to the event, the two right westbound lanes were blocked in the immediate aftermath.
