3 teens injured following crash near NMSU campus in Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES, NM – A crash in Las Cruces early Saturday morning sent three teenagers to the hospital, KOAT reports.

The incident took place at about 2 a.m. in the area of South Triviz Road and Choilla Road, near the New Mexico State University campus.

NMSP police said the teens were in stable condition. Two of them were airlifted to UMC Hospital in El Paso after they were either impaled or struck by an object during the accident.

The case remains under investigation and charges could be filed, police said.

Accident involving pedestrian shuts down New Mexico 217

BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM – Emergency responders were dispatched to an accident in Albuquerque early Sunday morning.

According to a traffic alert from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office ar 12:55 a.m., the crash involved a pedestrian. No details were released on the condition of the pedestrian.

The incident shut down New Mexico 217 in all directions at Juan Tomas Road, five miles south of Interstate 40. Drivers were advised to plan ahead if traveling in the area. All lanes were reported back open at 2:40 a.m.

School bus rollover in Albuquerque leaves driver injured

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A school bus was involved in a collision in Albuquerque last week, according to KRQE.

The March 9 crash took place in the vicinity of Interstate 40 and Unser Boulevard at about 6:30 a.m. Authorities said the school bus was struck by a pickup truck and rolled over.

The driver sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, and was transported to an area hospital. No children were on board at the time.

The incident resulted in extensive traffic delays through the area.
