3 dead following head-on collision near Abiquiu

ABIQUIU, NM – According to KOAT, three men lost their lives in a head-on collision on US 84 near New Mexico 554 on April 17.

Isaac Madrid, 19, was driving when his vehicle strayed into oncoming traffic at around 6 a.m. and collided with another vehicle.

Madrid, along with two other men, brothers Jason Abeyta, 47, and Nathan Abeyta, 42, died in the collision. Officials said the Abeytas were faculty members at Santa Fe Indian School.

The New Mexico State Police is investigating the incident.

Train collides with vehicle in Los Chavez, killing 1

LOS CHAVEZ, NM – One person lost their life when a Rail Runner train collided with a vehicle near New Mexico 314 and Elaine Drive on Tuesday, according to KOAT.

The train struck the vehicle at around 7 p.m.

One person, whose identity remains undisclosed, died in the collision. No one else has been reported hurt at this time.

The incident is under investigation by the New Mexico State Police.

Auto accident disrupts traffic on New Mexico 90 near Tyrone

TYRONE, NM –  According to NMRoads, a crash blocked traffic on New Mexico 90 northbound near mile marker 39.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at around 7:04 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone was injured in the incident.
