2 injured in stolen truck crash near UNM’s North Campus area

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Two people were hurt Monday morning due to a crash involving a stolen truck near The University of New Mexico’s North Campus in northeast Albuquerque, reports KRQE.

The events unfolded in the area of Indian School Road Northeast and University Boulevard.

According to UNM police, the stolen truck was northbound on Indian School Road when it failed to stop at a red light. Moments later, the truck hit two other vehicles and then the cinderblock wall outside of the Vitalant Blood Donation center along University Boulevard.

First responders transported two people in the truck to a local hospital. No information on the severity of their conditions has been shared.

No other injuries were immediately reported.

An investigation is in progress, but authorities said they recovered burglary tools and a catalytic converter from the stolen vehicle.
