2 dead in Albuquerque crash after driver runs red light

ALBUQUERQUE, NM -Four vehicles were involved in a deadly collision in northwest Albuquerque on Sunday night, reports KOB.

Police were dispatched to the area of Candelaria Road and 2nd Street at about 7:48 p.m. According to the initial investigation by Albuquerque police, the driver of a 1967 Triumph convertible went through a red light on 2nd Street and T-boned a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck that was traveling on Candelaria with a green light. The truck collided with two cars that were waiting at a red light in the opposite turning lane.

The driver and passenger in the Triumph were pronounced dead at the scene, while the occupants of the truck were hospitalized in stable condition.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the wreck.

Accident reported on I-10 westbound in Buena Vista

BUENA VISTA, NM – The New Mexico Department of Transportation advised drivers of a crash affecting traffic along a stretch of Interstate 10 on Sunday night.

According to an alert on NMRoads at 9:11 p.m., the incident took place on I-10 westbound at mile marker 13 in Buena Vista.

The crash was reported to have taken place on the shoulder of the interstate. Drivers were urged to slow down and be cautious when traveling through the area.

BCSO investigating fatal crash in the South Valley

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Authorities responded to the scene of a fatal crash in the South Valley early Sunday morning.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office posted a notification regarding the accident at 3:31 a.m. It happened in the vicinity of Goff Boulevard and Arenal Road.

The intersection was closed in all directions while deputies were investigating. There was no immediate word on who had been killed.
