DOÑA ANA COUNTY, NM — Two people were killed early Wednesday in a single-vehicle rollover crash that injured nine others in Santa Teresa, reports KFOX14.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene at McNutt Road and Airport Road, shortly after 4:45 a.m.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the wreck, but a report from KVIA indicates U.S. Border Patrol agents were pursuing an SUV when it overturned.

Two people died from their injuries at the scene, confirmed authorities.

One person was airlifted to University Medical Center in El Paso where they were listed in critical condition. Sunland Park Fire crews also transported another patient to the UMC with critical injuries.

Seven others were taken to a local hospital with less serious injuries.

An investigation by New Mexico State Police was in progress.
