1 seriously injured in pedestrian crash on Montaño Rd near north Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Deputies responded to an injury crash Tuesday night involving a pedestrian on Montaño Road near north Albuquerque, reports the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials arrived on the scene between Edith Boulevard Northeast and Edmon Road Northeast shortly before 9:54 p.m.

The circumstances behind the incident remain unclear at this time, but one person was struck by a vehicle and suffered serious injuries. First responders rushed the victim to an area hospital.

At this time, the sheriff’s office has not disclosed any details regarding the driver. No pending charges or citations have been reported.

A section of Montaño Road was shut down in both directions as deputies investigated.


By 9:54 p.m., the eastbound road had been reopened, but the westbound lanes remained blocked.
