1 motorcyclist dead, 1 injured in accident on Albuquerque’s West Side

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Two motorcycles were involved in a deadly crash in Albuquerque on Thursday night, according to a KOB report.

The incident took place on the city’s West Side, in the area of Coors Boulevard and Westside Drive. According to police, the driver of a Toyota RAV4 was making a turn at the intersection shortly before 8 p.m. when the vehicle was struck by the two motorcycles. Witnesses said the motorcycles were both traveling at a high rate of speed.

Both motorcycle drivers were ejected from their bikes. One was killed while the other was critically injured and taken to an area hospital.

None of the drivers showed any signs of impairment, investigators said.

Crash causes lane closure on Coors Boulevard in SW Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A crash disrupted traffic in a section of southwest Albuquerque on Thursday morning.

In a traffic advisory at 9:40 a.m., the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said the accident reduced northbound Coors Boulevard to one lane at Tower Road.

No major injuries were reported, the BCSO said.

2 injured, driver cited after T-bone collision in Midway

MIDWAY, NM – Two people were injured in a vehicle collision in Chaves County on Sunday, the Chaves County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Deputies responded to the area of Yakima Road and Old Dexter Highway in Midway after the accident was reported at 5:30 p.m.

An investigation determined that the driver of a Ford Explorer failed to yield the right of way to a Nissan Sentra traveling west on Yakima Road and was t-boned by the Sentra. Both people in the Sentra were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Ford Explorer was cited for Vehicles Entering a Stop/Yield Intersection.
