1 injured, traffic snarled after rollover wreck outside of Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES, NM – One person was injured in a rollover crash about four miles east of Las Cruces last week, according to the Dona Ana County Public Safety department.

Doña Ana Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene on Interstate 10 near mile marker 149 on Friday just after 5 p.m.  Two vehicles were involved in the collision, and one was reportedly a recreational vehicle.  One person was taken to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Two lanes of the interstate were closed to traffic during the accident response.    KTSM reported the lanes were closed for about three hours, causing extensive traffic delays during the evening commute.

Lane closed on westbound Montano Road due to accident

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A motor vehicle crash disrupted traffic in a section of Albuquerque on Tuesday evening.

According to an alert from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office at 7:19 p.m., deputies were dispatched to westbound Montano Road near the Rio Grande river.

The accident shut down the #2 lane of the roadway, and congested traffic was reported in the area.

Off-duty Roswell police officer involved in crash

ROSWELL, NM – An off-duty Roswell police officer was involved in a crash in his unit on Monday evening, the Chaves County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Deputies responded to the accident at Darby Road and SE Main Street at about 6:30 p.m.  The sheriff’s office said minor injuries were reported, and no one had to be taken to the hospital.

The off-duty officer was issued a summons for: Failure to Yield to oncoming traffic / Vehicles Turning Left at Intersections.  Roswell police assisted with traffic control while sheriff’s deputies were conducting their investigation.
