ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A driver was injured Wednesday night after a gas tank semi-trailer overturned in south Albuquerque’s Mountain View area, reports KOAT.

The collision took place at the intersection of Desert Road and Broadway Boulevard Southeast (New Mexico State Road 47). It was first reported by KOAT at 9:50 p.m., after deputies with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office had already arrived on the scene.

Officials did not say what caused the wreck, but the rollover resulted in a gasoline spill over the roadway.

The driver, who appeared to suffer a neck injury, was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital. No updates on their condition have been released at this time.

Though no area evacuations were deemed necessary following the gas leak, authorities established a perimeter around the scene, forcing traffic to detour.
