1 dead in head-on collision on New Mexico 337

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Two vehicles were involved in a fatal crash in Bernalillo County last week, according to a KOAT report.

The accident occurred Oct. 11 at New Mexico 337 and Juan Tomas Road at about 2:55 p.m. The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said the vehicles involved collided head-on. One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

A portion of New Mexico 337 was closed while deputies and emergency crews responded. The cause of the wreck is under investigation by the BCSO.

Accident shuts down westbound Dennis Chavez Boulevard

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office posted a traffic alert Monday afternoon due to a vehicle crash in Albuquerque.

The advisory at 3:35 p.m. said that BCSO deputies were at the scene of the wreck in the area of Dennis Chavez Boulevard and Condershire Drive. No injuries were reported.

Westbound Dennis Chavez Boulevard was blocked to traffic until the accident could be cleared.

Alleged drunk driver arrested following wreck in NW Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – One person was arrested after a crash in northwest Albuquerque that left a man critically injured.

A report by KRQE states that police responded to the area of Coors Bypass and Ellison Drive after the incident occurred Sunday morning at about 3:15 a.m.

Investigators determined that the driver of a Honda was heading west through the intersection with a green light when the car was struck by a southbound van that was speeding and went through the red light.

The Honda rolled over multiple times and a man was trapped inside. After being extricated, he was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Police arrested the man they say caused the crash, 25-year-old Seth Mitchell, who was allegedly driving drunk at the time.
