1 dead in collision on Interstate 40 west of Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A fatal accident shut down a stretch of Interstate 40 on Wednesday morning, according to KOAT.

Authorities said two vehicles were involved in the wreck on I-40 eastbound west of Albuquerque, leaving one person dead. No information was released on the identity of the victim, or the circumstances that led to the crash.

New Mexico State Police were dispatched to the scene for the investigation. The incident resulted in traffic being diverted off I-40 at the exit for State Road 6.

Drivers were advised to expect major delays until the scene could be cleared.

Stretch of Interstate 25 south closed due to accident

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to NMRoads, a crash shut down a portion of Interstate 25 in Albuquerque on Thursday afternoon.

The incident happened on I-25 south at mile marker 227 in the area of Comanche Road. The left lane and left shoulder of the interstate were blocked while emergency crews responded.

Drivers were advised to be cautious when traveling through the area and expect traffic delays.

Crash shuts down lanes on Coors Boulevard in both directions

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Lane closures were reported in a section of the South Valley early Thursday morning due to an accident.

According to a traffic alert from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office at 12:25 a.m., deputies were called to the scene in the area of Coors Boulevard SW and Barcelona Road.

All of southbound Coors Boulevard at Barcelona Road and the #1 lane of northbound Coors at Barcelona were closed until the wreck could be removed. Drivers were urged to avoid the area.
