CLOVIS, NM – A young man was arrested after police said he fled from a crash in Clovis that left a woman injured on Tuesday morning.
According to Eastern New Mexico News, the incident began when police tried to conduct a traffic stop on 19-year-old Vincente Torres-Gurrola on Lea Street due to outstanding warrants against him.
Police said Torres-Gurrola drove away and later got into a crash with another vehicle at Prince Street and 10th Street before fleeing on foot. He was located in a shed and taken into custody.
A 61-year-old woman who was involved in the car crash was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center for treatment of chest and head pain.
Torres-Gurrola was booked into the Curry County Adult Detention Center, where he was held without bail.
