CHAVES COUNTY, NM – A single-vehicle wreck in Chaves County last week left a driver injured, according to the Chaves County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched to the area of New Mexico 285 at mile marker 135 on April 6 at about 11:20 p.m.
Callers reported seeing a rollover accident, but when the deputies arrived they determined the vehicle did not roll over. The driver said he had swerved to avoid an animal and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle went off the west side of the highway and ended up partially in the median, blocking the inside travel lane.
The driver was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries. The disabled vehicle was removed from the roadway as the sheriff’s office completed its investigation.
LORDSBURG, NM – Drivers were advised of a crash affecting traffic along a portion of Interstate 10 in Hidalgo County on Sunday afternoon.
An advisory on NMRoads at about 5 p.m. stated that the accident occurred on I-10 eastbound at mile marker 11 in the Lordsburg area.
The left passing lane of the interstate was shut down while emergency crews were responding to the scene.
BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash involving a motorcycle on Sunday night.
The BCSO’s traffic alert issued at 8:20 p.m. stated that southbound New Mexico Highway 14 was closed at Sandia Crest Road due to the incident.
There was no immediate word on whether anyone had been injured.
